Join My Journey: Lake Shrine and Yogananda

Dear Beautiful Spiritual Being,
In this week’s Join My Journey video, I visit the beautiful meditation and prayer grounds of the Lake Shrine.
Before I go into details of the video with you, I want to remind you of my new service titled Guidance on the Go. It’s a new way of coaching, and I’m so excited to connect with you in this way!
Details for Guidance on the Go can be found by clicking here.
Now, about the Lake Shrine… It was donated to Paramahansa Yogananda. Does his name sound familiar to you?
He was one of the pioneers that brought spirituality from the east to the west back in the 1950’s.
{By the way, that white shrine behind me contains the ashes of Gandhi. I share this info in the video with you}.
In this Join My Journey segment, besides sharing videos and photos of this peaceful location with you, I also recommend two of Yogananda’s books. And talk about journaling. There’s a personal reason why I talk about journaling while at the Lake Shrine, which I explain for you in the video.
The two books I recommend are:

  • Journey to Self-Realization (one of those books that you can read from cover to cover or open up at any page and learn deep life wisdom).
  • Autobiography of a Yogi (the story of Paramahansa’s life).

I love both of these books!
Journey to Self-Realization was the first book on spirituality that I read 19 or 20 years ago. And it has still kept a place deep within my heart!
And Autobiography of a Yogi has become a classic in the world of spirituality.
Also in this video, I recommend journaling for you.
Writing down our thoughts and emotions becomes a cathartic experience.
{And that is one of the reasons I created Guidance on the Go}.
The journaling process becomes very powerful because there comes a point, after a few minutes or a few pages, that we move from the conscious to the subconscious part of our minds.
And we look at our life concern, in written format, with new eyes.

It also becomes a release.
When we create the opportunity to take something out of our mind and write it out, it allows for a different perspective to be seen.
So write away! And watch what happens :)
I love journaling and keep it as part of my spiritual practice.
If you live in the Los Angeles area, or have a chance to visit this part of the world, go visit the Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades. It’s a little oasis. And it’s super close to the beach. So you can do both – visit the Lake Shrine and the beach all in one day… Making way for a very peaceful day :)
If you know of anyone who could benefit from the message of this newsletter, please
forward it to them.
I wish you an enchanting week!
With Gratitude,
