If You've Fallen Off the Track of Your New Year's Resolution, This Newsletter is For You
Video Length: 1.90 Minutes
Hello Newsletter Family,
If you have fallen off the track of your New Years Resolution, or any goal you had set for yourself, then this newsletter is for you.
With this video I give you a little information about the way the mind works.
The mind loves to be lazy. And the mind loves habits.
So if you want to make a lifestyle change, or you are setting a big goal for yourself, the way to have effective, lasting change, is to take small steps.
There have been times, I’m sure you’ve noticed, when you’ve jumped forward doing something… And all of a sudden before you know it, you’ve gone back to the old you.
The reason is the mind went forward with you for a little bit, but then it started to give you excuses about why you shouldn’t go forward with what you had set out to do.
Because the mind loves habits and it loves to be lazy.
It will do what it can to take you back to the old you.
And the way to move forward effectively is to take small steps, so that the mind has a chance to get used to the new you, with every step you take forward.
There are exceptions to this… If you set a timeline for yourself. Let’s say you want to cut carbs from your diet for 3 weeks, or you want to cut out television viewing at night for 3 weeks, then that is doable. But if you want to make a lifestyle change, something grander, taking small steps forward will be a lot more effective.
Too often we become consumed with the end goal and forget there is a process to everything. It’s important to maintain your vision of the end goal. And its equally important to have patience, and perseverance, as you move forward.
If you know of anyone who could benefit from the message of this newsletter, please forward it to them.
I wish each of you a productive week!
